Jeans and a t-shirt in soft and easy to wear materials, if not this then a total look in either one colour or print. In summer it would be a dressing gown in cotton or silk.

Comfort over style, this applies to both attire and life.

AS THE COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR OF ONE OF THE MOST COVETED FRENCH SHOE BRANDS, MICHEL VIVIEN, WHAT FEELS GOOD ON YOUR FEET? 
I always feel better in small comfortable heels. I always pay attention to the material of my shoes. In winter, a pair of unlined boots that hug the ankle. In summer, a pair of mules. 

ARE THERE ANY STAPLE ITEMS IN YOUR WARDROBE THAT YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT? 

High-waisted trousers or jeans, round or high neck jumpers and tops, tops with puffy sleeves, the blazer + trouser look, mini shoulder handbags, my Michel Vivien shoes, my vintage leather jackets, my printed trench and my fake fur jacket from Dries Van Noten, and now, my CRUSH cardigans which is perfect for any occasional sudden temperature change.

HAVING GROWN UP IN PARIS, WHAT MAKES THE CITY SHINE SO BRIGHT IN YOUR EYES?

Paris for me is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It has a historic, cultural and romantic side and of course that innate sense of fashion. Parisians are always chic and more spontaneous than in other countries. I love the terrace culture, I really have missed that during the pandemic.

IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE, WHERE WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I couldn’t live anywhere else. I have travelled a lot and the other cities to me are either too calm or too fast paced. I am pure Parisien, it’s a mentality. I do love to escape to my countryside house for a recharge over the weekends though, and coming back fresh for the Mondays.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ARRONDISSEMENT IN PARIS AND WHY?

I love my quartier, the 11th arrondissement, with all its little food shops and typical bars and restaurants. It’s not a touristic area but worthy to take time to walk around and discover.

YOU HAVE SUCH A LOVELY DUPLEX APARTMENT, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PIECES AT HOME?

Oh there are so many! A table from Hugues Poignant, a designer from the 60’s, in marble and wood ,my white Knoll chairs, my vintage Scandinavian thread, all my vintage lamps, a painting from the artist Rose Marie Auberson,all my ceramics collected around the world or made by my sister Anne-Gloria Lefèvre and my old sewing boxes with flowers.

IS THERE A MUSEUM OR CULTURAL LOCATION THAT INSPIRES YOU?

Musée de l’Orangerie, Musée d’Orsay and Musée Rodin are all magnificent. 

WHAT DOES YOUR LIFE IN LOCKDOWN LOOK LIKE RIGHT NOW? WORKING FROM HOME, WORKING IN THE OFFICE? COOKING MORE? AT HOME WORKOUTS? 

I am between the office and my place. I am eating healthier and impatiently waiting for the reopening of gyms because it is impossible for me to do online workouts. 

HOW HAS LOCKDOWN CHANGED THE WAY YOU WORK AT MICHEL VIVIEN?

We have rethought our way of creating collections, no travel to our italien factories, budget constraints etc. We had to launch our online site. The clients are now looking for flat shoes rather than the more creative styles as the way of life has changed. The purchases are now essential rather than impulsive. 

HAVE YOU STARTED ANY HOBBIES OR ROUTINES THAT YOU WOULD NOT HAVE DONE BEFORE? 

I have a new beauty routine. Well-being has become super important for me. I regularly massage my face.  I also hosting more and more house gatherings these days, cooking way more!
